Known for its stunning green and crimson foliage, the Rojo Congo Philodendron is an attractive warm weather plant. Often confused with its parent, this Philo is actually a hybrid of the Philodendron tatei and Philodendron Imperial Red.

Different from many other Philos, this beaut doesn’t have a vining or climbing growth habit. The Rojo Congo sprouts and matures from a central stem, growing upright. Elegant, lush and low maintenance, it’s easy to see why its a bit of a favourite.
In growing and caring for your Rojo Congo indoors, make sure to:
- Plant in a chunky soil mix that is fertile, airy, and well-draining.
- Provide it with several hours of bright, indirect light (can tolerate medium light conditions).
- Water once the top few centimetres or so are dry.
- Fertilise regularly during the active growing season.
Like the sound of that, search for it on our app and hit the love heart to save to your favourites. Already a proud owner? Add it to your ‘My Plants’ section for quick access to its detailed care guides.
